The original lounge music from the late ’50s and early ’60s was intended for “lonely guys with hi-fi’s.” The current rejuvenation of this music owes its resurgence to a new generation, who has discovered a life-style around this bachelor-pad music—cocktails, clothing, dancing, cigars, even movies. Capitol was the home to lounge kings Les Baxter and Martin Denny, among other notables. Finding the right combination of faux fur and iridescent plastic proved to be the challenge for the packaging to help create a collectible sampler culled from our twelve previously issued Ultra Lounge CDs.
