We wanted to give people a deal on music. We wanted to be blatant about our intentions to sell records—i.e., no slick sales pitch. We wanted it dirt cheap. We wanted it to be cool. We wanted to tell people that this music was a by-product of other great albums. Hence, Buy Product.
