Description

This was the first video from Nirvana’s “In Utero” album, and as such needed to create an impressive impact. The basis for the imagery came from Kurt Cobain himself, and was related to the album cover concept, but after many discussions with Anton Corbijn, it was Anton who welded all the ideas into a working video. Shooting in black and white, the video was recolored in post-production, which allowed a lot of creative freedom in the design and set construction. The resulting piece really captured the essence of the song—making it a highly watchable yet disturbing video.
