This was a poster for an AIGA program in Washington, DC, called ArtStart, in which small groups of designers, illustrators, and photographers went to local elementary schools to teach the students (and teachers) about design. The poster was first sent out to the design community to attract volunteers for the program, then was handed out to students to take home after the sessions. The intent of the image was to inspire children (and the designers teaching them) to think in new ways about the nature of design.
