Description

For this cover, the editor requested that we not use illustration or photography. The challenge was to come up with an arresting typographic solution that would convey the energy and drama of the story. In instances where the illustration and photography are not being used, the typography becomes the image. In this design, with its varied letter sizes and unusual placement of type, I tried to create energy, tension and drama. “The Beast” in this case refers not only to drugs, but also to the inner struggle experienced by the protagonist.
