Description

This atlas guides the reader into the innovative theoretical universe of architects Reiser + Umemoto through a series of 67 short, reader-friendly chapters presented in a small format. The cover is a visual and tactile pleasure with silver foil and blind debossing on a matte laminated soft cover, finished with rounded corners. The book seduces through bold contrasts, allusions and juxtapositions: dense, detailed architectural diagrams combined with historical etchings, photographs and illustrations; a seemingly classical page layout set in two contemporary typefaces; subtly textured paper printed with metallic green and blue-black ink supplemented by tipped-on glossy full-color plates.

Juror Notes

“A nod to the Moleskine diary masquerading as an engineering handbook disguised as an art book. The embossed faux-rubber cover is non-skid.”
