Description

This book on a single installation by Chinese firework artist Cai Guo-Quiang at the Guggenheim Museum in Berlin needed to be available at the opening of the show. Considering that the installation was only completed the night before the opening, we produced a small book featuring all the sketches and mailed a large book containing all the installation shots a couple of weeks later. The small book fits neatly into the cover of the large book.

Juror Notes

“From the smooth, delicate tissue paper that wrapped it, this is really two books in one. The first is a small self-sealing paperback that sits in a die-cut well in the cover, entitled appropriately enough, Foreplay.”

“The bigger book is a spectacular overview of Cai Guo-Quiang’s work—and fireworks.”
