The cover for this international showcase of contemporary illustration implies a hand-drawn aesthetic. The design incorporates the representation of a torn page from a sketchbook and a hand-painted title that is spot UV varnished to suggest the immediacy of wet paint. These elements are superimposed on top of a figurative illustration by Nina Chakrabarti, which is suggestive of the highly decorative nature of some of the book’s content. The illustration has been debossed, lending the cover a highly tactile quality.
“Strong, eye-catching typography complemented by some great production values, especially the ornate embossing.”
