Description

Dead Boys is a collection of stories about men, some of them outlaws, some of them regular working guys, searching for salvation and love in the vast urban sprawl that is Los Angeles. I wanted the design to depict the feelings of despair and isolation these characters experience as they traverse the grittiness of humanity. I knew right away that I wanted to use an illustration by Ali Campbell. Her work, with its delicate lines and infinite perspectives, has the perfect sensibility for these stark and tragic stories.

Juror Notes

“Interesting, delicate illustration with an unusual color scheme that is offset with strong, simple typography.”
