Slide is a new speakeasy/nightclub opening on Mason Street in San Francisco. To communicate the idea and atmosphere of a speakeasy, the design is very quiet and restrained. Type is set small, almost as a whisper. The copy written for all of the pieces is slightly cryptic, often referencing slang terms from the Prohibition Era.
“Unusual promo for a bar. Nice mix of grid-sensibility with vintage imagery. For a bar, it elevated the idea.”
“Intimacy of the book form really relates to the ambivalence of a speakeasy. Cover is unassuming, just like a speakeasy.”
