Milton Glaser—Just Work Poster
Milton Glaser, Inc., New York, New York, 1996
Description
This poster for a show and lecture about my own work consists of a preliminary drawing and the finished print based upon the drawing. It’s basically addressed to students and teachers at the Art Institute of Boston, encouraging them to attend the lecture and exhibition. It requires a little visual acuity to understand the visual relationship between the two drawings, but the presumption is that art students and teachers have this acuity. I picked up the idea of a dotted background from an element in the print, but in retrospect it doesn’t seem to work that well. There’s a little more happening on the surface than I’m comfortable with.
