The Funny Pages

The New York Times, New York, New York, 2005

Description

The Funny Pages is a new section that The New York Times Magazine launched in fall 2005; it provides a platform for a graphic novelist to tell a story about the adventures of daily life in a graphic novel format over a series of consecutive installments. Chris Ware’s strip Building Stories, about the colorful dramas within various apartments of one building, appeared weekly from September 2005 to April 2006.

Juror Notes

Chris’s obsessive detail, illustration, writing, typography and design all come together so masterfully.
