Looking At Photographs 100 Pictures from the Collection of the Museum of Modern Art
Carl Laanes, New York, New York, 1973
Description
The book’s first purpose is to “provide material for simple delectation.” With the essays which accompany the photographs, it also serves as an introduction to the aesthetics of photography. The author’s choices indicate the Museum’s vast range, and is the first published survey of the Collection. The Museum endeavors to produce quality books which the public can afford. A softbound edition of 18,000, for $9.50, was published simultaneously.
