A Child’s History of America

A Child’s History of America

Lawrence Levy, Chicago, Illinois, 1973

Description

The book is a journal of the author’s travels during the 1960’s, filled not only with events, but also with his personal thoughts, impressions, even fictions. The marginalia—quotes from other books, graffiti, documents—add further dimension to the text and allow the reader to become an active participant. It was the designer’s job to collaborate with the author and provide him with all possible options, so as to make each individual page an event.
