Abyssinian Chronicles

Abyssinian Chronicles

Vintage Books, New York, New York, 2001

Description

I liked the idea that Abyssinian Chronicles is a grand book in terms of location, timescale (and spine width) and the variety of serious subjects like poverty, war and AIDS, yet derives from the viewpoint of a young Ugandan boy.

In the same way, the cover is meant to convey the scale of the book’s reach, without losing sight of its basis in individual characters.
