The Indians of California

The Indians of California

Jane Grabhorn, 1944

Description

Juror Notes

Here is the designer in what is—for her—a sober mood. But not too sober. The excessive side margins do not seem out of place for so slight a book, and the gay handling of the folios in them, which might become annoying in a book of three hundred pages, is piquant in eighty. The binding too is gay, with its specially printed paper sides in an explosive pattern.

Peter Beilenson, Paul McPharlin, Ernst Reichl (Jurors)
