Artists' Baseballs

Artists' Baseballs

Greenberg Kingsley, Inc., New York, New York, 1994

Description

These "designer" baseballs were created expressly for sale in the Guggenheim Museum's gift shops. The designer's intent was to create graphics that referred to contemporary art styles, but because the graphics were silk-screened, repeated use on the playing field soon wreaked havoc on the decoration. In practice, reality triumphed over lofty intention.
