Ex Libris: Confessions of a Common Reader

Ex Libris: Confessions of a Common Reader

Farrar, Straus & Giroux, New York, New York, 1998

Description

With Ex Libris as the title, an updated bookplate concept seemed a natural fit for this jacket. The Rockwell Kent illustration and the author’s “Confessions of a Common Reader” subtitle were a good match as well. But how to give oomph to a spare design? I selected a very smooth uncoated stock and an uncommon color. The green shade required two passes through the printing press.
