Into and Out of Dislocation

Into and Out of Dislocation

Paul Buckley Design, New York, New York, 1999

Description

This piece of writing was highly personal, cerebral and very abstract and seemed to be written in a manner that purposely left it fluid and uncategorizable. It also jumped freely between the past and present. It was a challenge to reflect this quality in a two-dimensional way that gave some clues as to the books content.

I chose to lay it out it in a way that would keep it vague yet intriguing, using old photos with a modern design that gave a sense of the cold northern territories and African American history.
