Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss Packaging

Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss Packaging

Fitch, Inc., Boston, Massachusetts, 1995

Description

Can packaging in two languages create broad consumer awareness of a generic item and brand the individual products of associated manufacturers? Designers devised an “educational billboard” for a flexible packaging system that established a uniform appearance for bags of varied sizes and formats, and met the specific branding needs of individual members of the Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss Association. The system is based on three shared information units: an introduction to product features and benefits for gardening and landscaping; two data matrices for specific seasonal application instructions; and cross-referenced coverage requirements and bag capacity to help consumers estimate the size and number of bags required.
