Race Riots

Race Riots

Salamander Hill Design, Elgin, Quebec, 2006

Description

This book deals with racial comedy in 20th-century British literature. The author shows how humor directed at ethnic “others” exposes deep-seated national attitudes. I used a graphic representation of “black face” with a smiling/not smiling mouth to put a new twist on an old stereotype.

Juror Notes

“Smart, eye-catching, appropriate.”
