Wormholes

Wormholes

Carin Goldberg Design, Stanfordville, New York, 1997

Description

Wormholes are the holes little worms make in old books. In this case I decided to rebel against the obvious, already-done-a-million-times tattered old book/spine solution. Beautiful but tired. So I want the other way and let Quark lead the way. The only demand made on me by the publisher was that the Priory typeface used for the author’s name, as was done on the covers of his earlier books. (So what? Very annoying.) Maybe that’s why the rest of the design resists the classical approach—I don’t like being told which typeface to use.
