South Texas College of Law 1995 Annual Report

Geer Design, Inc., Houston, Texas, 1995

Description

The South Texas College of Law annual report allows the dean to issue a “state of the union” address to the school’s constituents and is used as a development tool to publicly thank their donors. The 1995 report also served to commemorate the inauguration of the college’s new dean.
Dean Frank T. Read’s inaugural speech provided the theme and primary text for the report. His vision for legal reform is the basis of this discussion. The optimistic tone of his speech and the Dean’s hope to return the legal profession to its former regard recalls the idealism of 1950’s American commerce. This set the style for our visual approach.

In light of our current litigious culture, Dean Read’s sincere desire to create change in the system is admirable. Packaging a message intended to be delivered orally was a challenge. I feel that this solution illustrates a timely and powerful message in an unexpected and engaging manner.
