Babiche Poster

Babiche Poster

Paprika, Montreal, Quebec, 2007

Description

Babiche is a traditional material made from rawhide that is braided and known for its solidity. It is used today for lacing traditional snowshoes. In the exhibit Babiche at Montréal’s gallery-boutique Commissaires, artists and designers were asked to use the material as an inspiration for their creations.
The poster had to reflect the traditional look of babiche, while still being contemporary and typographical. We created a special “babiche-braided” typography for the occasion.
