The Beats

The Beats

Farrar, Straus and Giroux, New York, New York, 2009

Description

This particular jacket is a rare example of when everything just falls into place on the first pass: the art and the design. I decided to use the images of Jack Kerouac, William Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg in the interior art because they spoke volumes to me about this particular generation of men and women. They were artists filled with pain, love, hope, dreams and insanity. I hoped to share this feeling with the viewer by showcasing these illustrations.
