Description

We were so impressed with the performance and history of this company, we wanted to proclaim it on the cover of this annual report in a straightforward, unpretentious way. What makes it so compelling is that this is their first annual report.

We were also intrigued by the monotony of their product. Their commodity products are not what differentiate them from their competitors. Instead, it’s what they do with them —service, performance, customer satisfaction, etc. Our graphic concept was to use these common products in an unusual way and, in doing so, demonstrate that Boise can get extraordinary results with ordinary products.

We photographed the products simply and graphically, to exaggerate their ordinariness. The background colors were inspired by the colored papers offered in the Boise product catalogue. The performance graphs serve as a delicate overlay of information. The book was printed on uncoated paper to support the honest, forthright nature of the presentation and the company.
