SVA Senior Library 09

School of Visual Arts, New York, New York, 2009

Description

In order to best represent the Graphic Design and Advertising Department at the School of Visual Arts, we created a series of books that function as a compendium of the best senior work for the Class of 2010. The intent was to position the school as a leading creative institution, both nationally and internationally. What is particularly special about this publication is that each year, a senior portfolio instructor is selected to design and create a unique edition. Our faculty are eminent designers in their own right, and this job gives them an opportunity to express their design style while promoting the brilliant work by our students.

Juror Notes

A wonderful compilation of student work that offers a look at the talent coming out of the SVA Design Program and invites applications for job opportunities. The blocked text on the book’s edges is striking in deep black handwritten brushwork and mysteriously reads upside down when laid flat.
