Peterson Milla Hooks, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 2001

Description

In order to help Target highlight its sponsorship of the hit series “Survivor” we created a spot starring Marty and Elayne, the legendary lounge duo that has drawn hipsters to LA’s Dresden Room for 20 years. Set on a campy red background, the spot features Marty and Elayne singing their unique version of the classic song “I Will Survive.” A title card saying “You Don’t Need A Million Dollars to Survive” was used to make the Target / “Survivor” connection.

Juror Notes

“I think it’s about how this series works together in a certain sense.”

“They’ve done a masterful job of hooking content, product and coolness to their Target logo.”
