Richard Thompson “You? Me? Us?”

Richard Thompson “You? Me? Us?

Capitol Records, Hollywood, California, 1996

Description

Richard Thompson is a revered singer/songwriter known both for his exceptional acoustic guitar work and his unrestrained electric playing. This was his first-ever double CD, showcasing both sides of his guitar playing on a “nude” and “voltage enhanced” disk. The concept of the cover art dealt with the relationships between men and women, using metal/wood imagery to communicate the record’s electric/acoustic theme. Richard had mentioned something in an early meeting about Dada, which gave us our direction. With Dave Plunkert’s fantastic collages, an anti-technology motif, and the whole thing printed on uncoated stock, it’s about as good as it gets.
