Stomping the Blues

Stomping the Blues

Harris Lewine, 1976

Description

The purpose of the book was to produce the first authentic package on classic jazz in terms of visual authenticity and literary text. Because of costing, printing was done inexpensively by a printer, who rallied to the producer’s need for strong halftone blacks. 272 photographs integrated with a text of 23,000 words into a total book of 272 pages. The first all Black book ever done on jazz from a visual standpoint.
