Description

Wendy Richmond is recognized internationally as an innovator and commentator on visual communication and technology. She has been involved with computer-based media since 1977, beginning with research in design at MIT. She has participated in the formation of software companies to develop new communication media and tools, and co-founded the Design Lab at WGBH-TV. The questions at the heart of her research, writing, and teaching are: How is technology affecting the way we communicate? Does technology hinder or enhance our ability to express ourselves? Does technology divide or bind? She is an NEA grant recipient and has served on the AIGA national board. Her column has appeared in Communication Arts since 1984, and her book is titled Design & Technology: Erasing the Boundaries. She teaches at Harvard University.
