There is no reason why an anthology, meant for low-price sales in the drug stores, and conforming to the most rigorous demands of mass production, should not have as much care bestowed upon its design as a limited edition. The planning of the pages in this book shows thought and imagination. The chapter openings, on right-hand pages, are balanced with biographical notes on left-hand pages: author for title, life for story. The title-page occupies a spread of two pages to bring it into line.
