My First Geography of the Pacific

Artists & Writers Guild, 1944

Description

Juror Notes

Offset lithography suggests the clarity and richness of autolithographs, through drawings by the artist on glass, one for each of the six colors. While illustrations and text were planned together, and on some pages go well together, on others the text is forced into measures too long or too short, or too close to the pictures. The grayness of the black inking helps the color pages, but looks weak on those in black only. There is a substantial cloth binding.
