The Old Pacific Capital

The Old Pacific Capital

Jane Grabhorn, 1944

Description

Juror Notes

Again the personality of the designer is strong; here it expresses itself in gaiety, or a kind of gay irresponsibility, which jumbles strangely-assorted typefaces and colors together, and comes out with something not half so terrible as one might have expected—with something, in fact, quite good. The binding uses a demure specially-printed paper on the sides. The workmanship, as in all Colt books, is fine throughout.

Peter Beilenson, Paul McPharlin, Ernst Reichl (Jurors)
