This diagram consists of four graphic displays, which are part of a continuing series of approximately 50 displays. These are representative of graphics designed to illustrate complex systems, services and products.

The original graphic style was developed for use in an international telecommunications trade fair. This included the development of symbols recognizable by a non-English speaking audience, a three-dimensional quality, and color coding of elements throughout the series. The production of each graphic display begins with a conceptual sketch interpreting the system to be portrayed. Photography and line art are created and then fed into a computer where the color and shading are applied. A total of 124 colors are used in any given graphic display. Each is stored on 8” floppy disk and can easily be updater or modified. The 8000 line resolution allows for final production of a sharp image on a 40” x 40” duratrans for use in a lightbox.
