Civilization and Disease

Civilization and Disease

Robert Josephy, 1944

Description

Juror Notes

In harmony with the unusual choice of illustrations—made from old documents—for this book, the designer has avoided the dry and text-booky look that it might have had by an unusual arrangement for the chapter headings: he has set the chapter and its number flush at the left, indented the chapter title at a considerable space, and begun the first line of the text under it with the same indention. A sound book from the hand of a designer who always strives for utility, simplicity, and good taste.

Peter Beilenson, Paul McPharlin, Ernst Reichl (Jurors)
