Dupont Corian Trade Show Exhibit

Dupont Corian Trade Show Exhibit

Pentagram, New York, New York, 1996

Description

Corian is a DuPont synthetic best known by interior designers as a durable white material for countertops in kitchens and baths. Pentagram challenged this preconception when the proejct made its debut at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in 1996. Sculptural sign-walls, reproduced furniture, surface manipulations, and a new color palette demonstrate the material’s surprising untapped design potential. The exhibit forced the product user or specifier to reexamine the properties of Corian, revealing new uses for a familiar material.
