Taboo series
Farrar, Straus and Giroux, New York, New York, 2004
Description
Color was the main device used to communicate the book’s major theme: race. Since this was a one-color job, it wasn’t difficult to persuade our publisher to split the print run in half—one black jacket and one white—in order to convey the concept. The books are identical on the inside; their jackets are the only thing that makes them appear different.
