That Old Feelin’ Poster
Johnny Vitorovich, New York, New York, 1997
Description
This campaign is intended to generate new interest in and heighten awareness of Maryland’s oldest surviving drive-in theater. Each poster was designed to reach a specific audience—those searching for a fun family night out, couples looking to rekindle a romance, and any adult who remembers the magic of a summer night on the grass watching a movie.
Because of the interest and nostalgia the posters have generated, all the printing, stock, and foil stamping were donated by multiple vendors. What started out as a personal quest to photo-document this drive-in over two years ended up as a poster series. I think the posters succeed because they capture the romance, the sounds, smells, texture and Americana that is/was the drive-in theater.
