Rather than impose a pattern on this book, the designer has allowed it to seek one of its own. There is a solid binding with blue stamping on brown cloth and a powdering of gold fleurons, the same that appear inside the book as chapter-head decorations. Thoughtful handling of each detail in typography is apparent, and excellent presswork supplements careful planning.
