Shiseido Concept Book service brochure

Tolleson Design, San Francisco, California, 2001

Description

Shiseido approached Tolleson Design with the problem of designing a concept book that would serve as an invitation to experience Shiseido Studio—a store where nothing is for sale. Images of the human body and forms found in nature are juxtaposed with products to capture the spirit of this company, known for both its rich history and its sophisticated eye for design. Through words and images, guests to the Studio are faced with the question, “How do you experience beauty?” The small booklet should not only inspire answers to this question but should also provide a tactile beautiful experience in itself.

Juror Notes

“A well-crafted object that you admire to the point of wanting to own it.”
