Phaedra Poster
Drenttel Doyle Partners, New York, New York, 1995
Description
This poster announces a theatre production of Phaedra. About this poster, the author states, "the elements of a Greek tragedy: blood, metamorphosis, animal passion and fixation are present in a way that contemporizes the myth-fragmented and recombined, uneasily bound as if it might implode". The audience is the downtown crowd of New York, and the poster was illegally sniped around the city. The power of blood to communicate viscerally commands the poster... to it the type and information are all secondary.
