The One opening sequence

Imaginary Forces, Los Angeles, California, 2001

Description

The One opening sequence is a prologue that sets up the plot of the film. The various elements of this backstory involve concept of time, space and parallel universes. To visually interpret such ideas, we created a mood of heightened drama and expectation while exploring the context in which all of these concepts come into play.

Juror Notes

“It’s ridiculously beautiful eye candy that I can’t resist. It’s communicating a story through beautiful animations, where the cell splits apart, like a Bill Viola piece that becomes spiky.”

“The animation wasn’t decorative, it was actually storytelling.”

“The typography, I felt, took away from the purity.”
