Nike Presto 04: Urban Canvas campaign
Motion Theory, Wieden+Kennedy, Los Angeles, California, 2002
Description
Graffiti jumps off the walls and interacts with the landscape in this Nike Presto campaign, which combines the art of post-graffiti artists Skwerm, Sasuke and Frek with live-action footage from Tokyo, Shanghai and Los Angeles. Compositing techniques, 3-D animation and digital artistry bring everything together and create a unique integration of art and environment, all designed to reach out to a wide range of Asian cultures without depending on language. Meanwhile, a stylized DJ spins the musical track on a helipad-sized turntable, creating the beat of the city through building-sized speakers and inspiring the art to come to life.
