Poetica

Poetica

Adobe Systems, Inc., Mountain View, California, 1995

Description

Poetica is a digital typeface modeled on formal chancery scripts developed during the Renaissance. This specimen book showcases all 21 character sets, alternative characters, ligatures, and ornamental designs, and demonstrates how individual characters are used in context. The design locates each character on the keyboard and facilitates character by character comparisons. In addition to a brief history of chancery scripts, the book includes sample settings of the basic font in assorted sizes along with contemporary illustrations that display the beauty of the typeface in use.
