The Tale of Genji
Betty Anderson, 1976
Description
The slipcase for this two-volume edition was produced by Brick and Ballerstein, using Strathmore Grandee Malaga Purple for the overwrap and our printed label. The label was designed by Earl Tidwell. The illustration is a detail from Autumn Grasses, one of a pair of screens painted during the Momoyama Period in Japan. It was reproduced through the courtesy of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The label was printed on 80 lb. A.P.L, supplied by Champion Paper Company by The Longacre Press. The illustrations in the text were reproduced from the original woodcuts published in 1650 in the Illustrated Tale of Genji. The originals were the work of Yamamoto Shunsho
