The Bear Scouts

The Bear Scouts

Stan Berenstain, Jan Berenstain, New York, New York, 1970

Description

The original edition of The Bear Scouts was published in 1967 by Random House. This new edition, produced by Howe Memorial press with permission of Random House, Inc., is the first of a series of books to be produced in this format. The braille is embossed on clear acetate, allowing colorful pictures and printed story to show through. Thus the sighted parent or teacher and blind child can read the book together. “Braille-Vision” will be the trade name for childrens’ books that contain braille embossed on clear acetate. The Herber “Curastat” Static Eliminator is essential for handling Kodacel “acetate paper.” The Hallenbeck Embossing Machine, used on the book, was designed for hot stamping braille book spines and embossing braille titles.
