San Jose Arena Environmental Graphics
The Office of Michael Manwaring, San Anselmo, California, 1993
Description
In a neutral, Modernist building, graphics add spirit and provide a colorful visual map of the facility. The designers created two layers of functional signage: one at eye level to conform with ADA codes, and a second layer overhead in anticipation of crowds that block visibility. The project includes identification and directional signage for storefronts, freestanding concessions, and portable food carts; architectural color and materials consultation; uniforms for ushers, food servers and bartenders; marketing materials, and press kits.
