Oprah Has One
Project M, 2007
Description
The “Oprah Has One” campaign was conceived and designed by a young group of designers who were part of the Project M 2007 team. Convinced that design could have a significant and meaningful impact on the world, they traveled to Hale County, Ala., home of the Rural Studio for architecture and one of the poorest counties in America. When they discovered that 1,000 households did not have access to clean water, they decided to raise awareness and money to buy water meters and connect these families to the public water system. One hundred houses have been connected so far.
