A Guide to Digital Tools
Spangler Associates, Seattle, Washington, 1996
Description
The department of computing and communications runs all of the computing services at the University of Washington, a top research institution the size of a small city. On an annual basis it must communicate the value of its services to faculty and students while building an awareness of other interested groups like state legislators.
Encouraged by the department head’s belief in the value of strong design, we took this project as an opportunity to rethink what a catalogue of services could be. The assignment was to organize all services together for the first time and to project the high-quality visual impact that could differentiate this department from others on campus and get them noticed. The results have been excellent.
